English as a Second Language

Moreno Valley College, Norco College and Riverside City College offer a pathway to English fluency for multilingual speakers through the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. Recent immigrants, long-time residents, and international students can all benefit. Our students are from diverse countries and range in age from recent high school graduates to experienced adult learners. All of our students share a similar goal to increase their English fluency quickly in order to achieve success in academics or the workplace.

The colleges offer a sequence of courses that lead to English 1A, the transfer level English course. The tools on this website, as well as guidance from college counselors, can help you select the course that is right for you.​
